STEVIE SALAS

„Be What It Is“

(Label: Bellaphon/Street Date: 06/26/09)

Stevie Salas, the allround guitarist, who played and worked for rockstars like Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger or Michael Hutchence to name only a couple, recorded a new solo album that is called: "Be What It Is". For this record he assembled an allstar team composed of: Matt Sorum (Velvet Revolver, Guns N' Roses), Dave Abruzzese (Pearl Jam), Juan Aldrete (Mars Volta), Matt Sherrod (Crowded House, Beck), Brian Tichy (Billy Idol, Ozzy Osborne) and Japan's Superstar Koshi Inaba (the B'z). "Be What It Is" is a timeless rock record for fans of Lenny Kravitz and John Frusciante. The first four songs are great to rock the dancefloor, espacially "What It Was To Be What It Is". Song number 5 to 11 are adequate to chill with a joint on a coach, especially "Are The Gods Smiling On me (Or Are They Laughing) and the record has its ballad with "To Begin Again". A timeless record suitable to have a party, but equally for a chillout!  (MC)
